Spring Break & Vacation Faves
Picture this - you’re bikini-clad, sitting poolside, a fruity little drink in your hand. The sun is shining (finally!) and your skin is soaking it aaaaall in.
But waitttt, what’s that? Ah, the all too familiar feeling of a hugeee ingrown hair peeking from your bikini line!
You wish you had listened to your esty when she suggested getting two waxing appointments under your belt before running away for spring break.
Your emergency shave session did you DIRTY, and caused a nasty little ingrown hair and porcupine prickles sticking through your bikini. Notttt cute, or comfortable!
Don’t let this be you! How can you prepare your mound for spring break (or any vacation)?
To ensure your kitty is butter smooth by the time you’re going on vacation, you want at least TWO waxes before you’re leaving.
When you know your vacation date, count BACKWARDS from the date you LEAVE, and pre-book your appointments exactly eight weeks before you leave (that would be two waxes!).
For example, your vacation date is April 10th, and today is February 14. You have about eight weeks before your vacation. That is two waxes at FOUR weeks apart! Your waxes need to be done every 4-6 weeks for the best results. You’re going to want an even number of weeks between waxing, when possible (so don’t plan your waxes 2-3 weeks apart! 4-6, girly!).
So now that your waxes are scheduled accordingly, how do you care for your wax before you’re fully in vacation mode?
If you’re tanning before your vacation, do NOT go to your wax appointment right after being in a tanning bed or laying in the sun - the wax will rip the top layer of your skin off. Need I say more?
You want to give yourself 48+ hours of leaving that kitty ALONE before being in a pool or any body of water. This will ensure that you’re avoiding infection like folliculitis and other irritants! If shaving, you’ll want to wait about 24+ hours.
